AmigaSYS 4 AGA installing with the help of WinUAE (HDF):

Put the Amiga formatted HD into the PC.
Extract the AmigaSYS4AGA.zip file to the WinUAE dir.
Start the emulator and click once to the AmigaSYS configuration and load it. Go to the ROM section and add the Kickstart Rom file (3.x). Then save the configuration and start the emulation.

Install AmigaSYS, follow the instructions, you can change disks with F12. When you finished and the system boot up, quit from the emulator.

!CPU display in Emulator(WinUAE/E-UAE)!
At the install, look out, you are recommended to install the system with your real computer's parameters, because if you use wrong settings, it can cause compatibility problems on the real Amiga.

At install, the system displays the current CPU (wich was set in the emulator e.g.:68020), ignore this, e.g.: if you have a 68030 turbo card, select the 68030 CPU.

I cannot find my expansion card in the supported hardware list, what should i do?
At every CPU type there is an option: Other Amiga 1200 card, Other Amiga 4000 card. If you cannot find your card type in the list, then always use the Other Amiga.... option. Then the system will install the correct optimalisations, but not the card.

Will the system work properly in this case?
The system will work properly, a lot of memory card/turbo card does not have a driver, so you stick it into the computer and it won't require anything. If you have an install disk for your expansion card and you don't find it in the list, then you're recommended to install it. These are recommended at the 68040/68060 cards to reach the peak performance on your Amiga.

Start the emulator, load the AmigaSYS configuration, at the HDD section, add your harddisk (check the read/write option!). When you ready, start the emulation.

System will boot up soon, when it is done:
Format the bootable partition on the Amiga harddisk, name it EMPTY. (System:System/Format)
Click to FM3.0, it will start after a few moments, open EMPTY at the left side and SYSTEM at the right side. Click INERT and COPY in the middle menu of the FM3.0. If everything good ....:

Fm3.0

Copying...

When the copying finished, rename EMPTY to SYSTEM (DRIVES button on the middle menu, select EMPTY click OPERATE, erase the name EMPTY and write in SYSTEM.)

Quit WinUAE, remove the Amiga HD from the PC.
Put it in the Amiga and enjoy.

AmigaSYS 4 AGA installing with the help of Linux (HDF):

1.Format the HD or made partitions on it on Amiga.
2.Remove the HD from the Amiga.
3.Put it in the PC.
4.Mount AmigaSYS 3 Plus AGA HDF with loopback devive like this:

mkdir ~/drive1
mount -o loop /path/to/AmigaSYS3PlusAGA.hdf ~/drive1 -t affs

5.Mount the real Amiga HDD:

mkdir ~/drive2
mount /dev/ ~/drive2 -t affs

6.Copy the AmigaSYS files to the HD:

cp -a ~/drive1 ~/drive2

7.Unmount and delete:

umount ~/drive1
umount ~/drive2
rmdir ~/drive1
rmdir ~/drive2

8.Remove the Amiga HDD from the PC, put it into the Amiga and install the AmigaSYS.

Thanks to Cygnus for the description.

AmigaSYS 4 AGA installing on real Amiga (LHA):

I suggest this installation whose want to install the AmigaSYS on a real Amiga without any hardware messing.

I only suggest the real Amiga (LHA) version installing to advanced users only whose are knows the system better and can do the instructions without problems. (That's why i do not explain things like e.g.: extract the LHA file or put the AmigaSYS LHA on the machine)

I made a short manual to review how to install the AmigaSYS AGA on a real Amiga.

What are the most important steps?
1. You'll need an empty, formatted, bootable partition. (if you have 1 partition and it is not empty, then read the tips part 2.)
2. Extract the AmigaSYS LHA file directly to the partition.
3. Rename the partition to SYSTEM:
4. Restart the system and follow the instruction of the installer.

Tips:

1. It is recommended to make a Workbench based boot disk, wich contains all programs wich can be easily installed by AmigaSYS (WB 3.0 base, FileMaster+config, HDToolBox, Format, LHA).

2. If you have 1 partition, but you don't want to delete the old files and you have enough space to install AmigaSYS AGA, then do the following things:

- Make a dir named AmigaSYS4, and a dir named !OLDSYS.
- Extract the AmigaSYS4 LHA file to the AmigaSYS4 dir.
- Reboot and press both mouse buttons. (Amiga Early Startup).
- Select Boot with No Startup-Sequence option.
- In AmigaDOS mode, type in: YOURDRIVENAME:AmigaSYS4/FM3.0 (YOURDRIVENAME e.g.: SDH0:, DH0:, QDH:, DH0.1: etc, i refer to DH0 in the manual)
- In Filemaster open the dir DH0:!OLDSYS at the left side, and DH0: at the right side, click INVERT on the middle panel. Ekkor a program mindent kijelöl a jobb oldalon. Deselect the dir !OLDSYS and press MOVE. The files will move to the !OLDSYS directory.
- If you're done, then you have to repeat this, but you have to copy the content of !OLDSYS/AmigaSYS4/ to DH0:
- Finally press DRIVES on the middle panel and select the partition DH0:, click on OPERATE and rename the partition to SYSTEM.
- If everything is ok, then after the next restart, the AmigaSYS 4 AGA installer will welcome you...

BOOTABLE PARTITION:

Amiga:

Put the Install 3.0/3.1 disk into the DF0: drive and when the disk loaded, start HDTOOLBOX (INSTALL:HDTOOLS/HDTOOLBOX). Check, wich is the bootable partition, format it and copy the AmigaSYS to there.

You can make partitions with the program. If you want to use another partition for the operatong of AmigaSYS then, you only have to uncheck the BOOTABLE option, and check it on another partition. This is useful, when you want to keep your current system.

Maprom:

Maprom function supported on all Blizzard card automatically!
Copy the Kickstart 3.1 ROM file to System:DEVS rename it to ROM3.1 and thats it.
If the maprom isn't enabled on your card, then it will not work.

AmigaSYS 4 AGA usage with WinUAE emulator (HDF):

You can use AmigaSYS AGA under an emulator like any real Amiga. For this, there is the AmigaSYS WinUAE version, but if you prefer AGA then you can use this version too, without any problem.

!CPU display in Emulator(WinUAE/E-UAE)!

If i mess up the settings at the install, what can i do, or how can i check them?
In the loaded system, at the right side, click the AmigaSYS 4 menu and select the AmigaSYS hardware menu; here you can check your CPU type, the installed settings, the AmigaSYS version and you can change the hardware settings. If you installed the system with bad settings and later you modify it, it won't cause anything. The old settings will lose.

I get a "ASYS ERROR CODE + ???" error message when i check the AmigaSYS settings:
You get this message, when the AmigaSYS doesn't works properly and the optimalisations and extra settings are not installed. In the lowest row, the solution will be displayed, follow it.
